Four new pump test rigs for Jung Process Systems

[Translate to English:] vier neue Prüfstände

The careful manufacture of a pump also involves the in-depth examination of all its functions. The pump manufacturer Jung Process Systems has now extended its capacity for testing its HYGHSPIN-brand twin screw pumps with four new test rigs.

HYGHSPIN twin screw pumps are used in the food industry, with breweries and beverage manufacturers and in the pharmaceutical industry. They are machined from a single block of stainless steel and thus comply with the most exacting hygiene requirements. Manufacturing, including the production of all components, solely takes place in-house/ takes place almost solely in-house. “We set ourselves extremely high standards,” explains Anke Jung, Managing Director of the family-owned company, which has its headquarters in Pinneberg near Hamburg. “That is precisely why we attach such great importance to testing our twin screw pumps.”

The latest control technology includes four new test rigs. Every day standard orders with pump motors ranging from 2.2. to 45 kW are tested on two of the test stations. There is also a continuous test rig for long-term measurements on models with motor power up to 110 kW on which ATEX tests can also be performed. A fourth test rig is designed for the testing of mobile pumps.

The pipes to all test rigs are configured to 63 bar so that it is possible to test pumps up to 40 bar with a sufficiently large safety buffer. The pipe connections on the discharge side are extremely flexible and every test rig can be used for all models of HYGHSPIN pumps. The water supply to the test stations comes from two 4,000-litre tanks connected to a modern water treatment system.

Software, specially developed for Jung Process Systems, enables all pressure stages to be tested, both in manual and automatic mode. All the data recorded on the pressure, speed, flow, electrical power and temperature of a tested pump is automatically stored.

The new test rigs give Jung process Systems even more test capacity as their growth continues to rise. “HYGHSPIN twin screw pumps are actually quite a niche product but are being used more and more in place of other types of pumps, on account of their versatile uses and unique pump qualities,” explains Sales Manager Henning Grönwoldt-Hesse.
